The Change

Meet Bethany, Je’Dah, Kayla and Ary’an from the all-girl funk band, The Change. They share their unique stories and musical talents to inspire and uplift others who may be going through a difficult time. These 4 passionate game changers are going out in the world and making a difference and we are honored to be standing with them to spread kindness. We sat down with The Change and enjoyed learning a bit more about them.  Excited to share this interview with you!

If you could travel into any musical time or place, where would you go and why? 70’s Because that’s where all the amazing Funk Bands came from.

If you could invite 5 people to dinner (present or past) who would they be? Michael Jackson, Twenty One Pilots, Martin Luther King Jr., Whitney Houston and Beth’s Dad.

Do you have any hidden talents, hobbies or interests? Beth‐ Clogging, Dancing, Kayla‐ Snowboarding, Music videos Ary’an‐Gaming, Snowboarding, Je’Dah‐ Basketball, Being with family and friends.

What is your favorite highlight/moment in your music career thus far? Beth ‐ Pyler Park, Je’Dah ‐ Going into the schools, Kayla ‐ FloydFest, Ary’an ‐ Broadway At The Beach

What’s your favorite part of performing? Just being on stage and letting go.

What message do you want to share through your music?  You are fierce, You are powerful, and no matter what anyone says about You, You know who you are.

What would you say to someone going through a rough time? Keep Holding on, There is hope, It will all be better by tomorrow.

If you had only 5 minutes to perform one song that could leave a great impact on the world today, what song would you perform and why?  We’d choose John Legend and The Roots “Our Generation” because it’s saying “hope of the world is in our generation, it’s all left up to us to change this present situation.”  The change starts with us, we are the change.
